Prince New Music..Hey we can't help it!

Ok Ok so I adore his purple badness a little more than others?
Okkkkkk..I GOT IT BAD YALL!
I mean come on..this aint some "born yesterday" love affair..
This is 20+ years of love honey and ya can't just ignore that! ;-)

He's legendary, ubertalented, has a style all his own,not afraid to speak his mind and rocks a high heeled boot flawlessly..and his guitar riffs?
LIKE NO OTHER BABY!

Imagine my delight when I found out that Prince
would be debuting his new song,Cause and Effect,
on a Minneapolis' independent music station, 89.3 The Current
TODAY!

In true "I don't mess around with my Prince" fashion..I woke up @ 7 am to catch it
and can I just say IT IS EXPLOSIVE!!!

Pure Prince,Pure Message,Pure Talent,Pure Guitar, and with an opening line like
"I am here.Where are you?"
need I say more!

Now..this next bit made me feel a lil stalkerish, although I do get a lil weak at the knees at the sound of the mans music,I've never written anything anywhere(besides here lol) expressing my feelings..
But in true FF form,we spread love all over,so I spread love and gave
Kudos where kudos were due!

Right smack dab in the middle of the Current's blog! They asked for feedback and I delivered!

Take a listen to the new new Here:
enjoy!

Head Fanny In Charge...RadioRose Garcia

We make it a habit here at the Vintage Wonderland
to pause from our daily grind
and shine a spotlight on fearless, fabulous ladies who
flex, represent and kick major a$$ in their chosen professions.
We call these aMMMazing gals our H.F.I.C - HEAD FANNY IN CHARGE!

What better way to continue the Fanny of the month series than with one of our absolute FavFanny's,  Radio Rose Garcia
We're in awe of the talent..The demand for excellence..
The sheer dedication to her grind!
But we LOVE her also for her big ol' heart and wicked funny streak!

This uber talented dynamo counts a quintuplet of careers as her own.
That's right count 'em, we're talkin a whoppin' 5 skills:
DJ
Stylist
Writer
Custom Designer
Party Promoter

Oooweeee, the hustle is MEAN we tell ya!

We caught up with Radio Rose recently to find out how this Energizer bunny
Keeps going...and going...and going...

1. Name/Age/Location
Radio Rose Garcia
28
BROOOOOOKLYN

2. What’s your favorite era of vintage?
The 1960s
There was such a great balance of elegance and being easy, breezy, carefree.
Everything seemed to feel and look as if it's floating
Could it be all the LSD maybe?
It was also a great cultural revolution
Where people started to express themselves and rebel in fashion.

3. What can we see you rockin’ on the daily?
My awesome Chanel quilted purse I found on a vintage run.

4. What is the ultimate outfit when you:
a. DJ?
5 inch heels, Little Black Dress, Leather or Latex.
I like to feel in charge - I'm such a dominatrix
Especially in my grommet Funky Fannys jacket!

b. STYLE?
Oversized buttoned down shirts or a sweater
Like my FF polka dot buttoned down..Tights and my motorcycle boots.
I have to do a lot of lugging around, bending and running
I want to be comfy.

c. BLOG?
Burnout tees or tanks, tights, Aztec moccasins and my Chanel scarf
I like to use it as a wrap
Oh, and how can I forget?
My leopard Snuggie!

5. You've got plenty on your plate, do you have a favorite hustle?
It's like having 3 children, you can't love one more than the other
But I can describe why I love them all.

With my styling I've worked my way up
and have been doing it for so long
It's truly my first love
I see everything as something I've earned and deserve

DJing keeps me learning every day
I'm on my toes, but very humble
So it's like a nice escape from the normal day to day.
With writing I always feel the need to express myself
I don't do it well verbally, but I'm great at describing it.

6. What’s your favorite thing about wearing vintage?
It's like having your own little piece of uniqueness.
You know that you'll rarely find another person wearing the same thing so
it's your own little piece of individuality
The hunt is also a great thrill.

7. What do you hunt out when thrifting /vintaging?
JUMPSUITS!
Love them, I don't have enough!
Bags/unique purses, anything with unicorns, bathing suits
I get very inspired by the colors and designs of
things I wore in high school (so hard to find nowadays)
90s Guess, Betsey Johnson, Polo Bear and babydoll dresses.

8. How would you describe your look?
Quirky, Fun, Risky

9. What’s your fave FF piece?
I don't have just 1...
But I have pics of all the awesome finds I've gotten
Wait for my part 2 - I couldn't fit them all in one feature!

10. Favorite vintage designer?
Not exactly a vintage designer, but I love finding Betsey Johnson pieces.

11. What Fanny would you be? (starts with an “F”)
Flashy Fanny!

12. Who do you look to for inspiration, style wise?
Diana Ross and Melba Moore- classic and sexy!

13. How did you become part of the FF fam?
I moved into the vintage cellar and never left!
I also provide the soundtrack along with some helpful motivation!

14. Shout outs/ Nominations for FF of the month and why?
I have a very talented photographer friend
That has a love for vintage greater than mine
Marley Kate, she's an amazing photographer
Have you seen her YSL sweat top?!
Or all the amazing goodies she inherits from her amazing Momma?!
Well, u need to!

Radio Rose keep curating the soundtrack of our hearts and blessing us boo!

Go get your fix and you'll be hooked for life just like us!

We Heart Mickey!

"Gosh!"
Who loved Mickey Mouse as a kid???
"Oh Boy"
Who you? Yep..me too!
I was a faithful devotee to MMC!

1. Mickey Mouse made his big debut in November 1928 and almost 82 years later,he never looked so good!
2. Team FF just ADORES that dear Mr. Mouse...with charm, charisma, and a neverending smile who wouldn't!What a guy!
3. Mickey and Minnie Mouse are married in my book ;-)
4. I heart Mickey's favorite saying: "Aw, gee...that sure is swell!"
(ya know in a Opie from Mayberry kinda way).
5.As a kid,I would dress up and rock out to MMC!
Apparently I still do...

FunkyFanny's Tip of the Day..Vintage Leather

At FunkyFanny's we treat our vintage with the utmost R.E.S.P.E.C.T!
We take pride in knowing that we're passing along
an amazing piece that will continue to last.

With that also comes sharing some tricks of the trade so you can upkeep your fabulous pieces long after they've left our pretty lil hands.

Leather is one of the most versatile fabrics known to man.
It can be used to make just about anything..clothing, shoes, purses, belts, accessories and more.
Naturally, over time like anything "used alot" some vintage leather begins to appear 'worn in'. There may be some fading, scuff marks, peeling from everyday wear and tear,or damage from unsuitable upkeep.

And since we take pride in knowing how to treat and care for our vintage goodies
Here are a few of our fav ways to save the day:

1. Do not store leather in dry and humid conditions.
This can lead to discoloration and water damage staining.

2. Always use a soft cloth to clean any leather.
Make sure to remove the dirt to make it shine it's natural color.

3. Try using some Pecard dressing; it's made especially for leather goods.
If not some good ol saddle wax will work, making sure to clean in circular motions.

4. After a good cleaning you can now condition your vintage leather piece with mink oil.
This makes it less prone to damage and leaves your fab leather piece with a nice shine.

5. Polishing leather is good to cover scuffs or any other damage that may have occured over time.

6. We recommend not to machine wash or dry your vintage leather
because it can cause damage beyond repair.

7. Storing vintage leather is an important part of the upkeep.
Make sure to store away from sunlight to prevent the skin from cracking or peeling
and stuff the sleeves with tissue to keep the natural form.

8. If you feel like staying true to the statement "better safe than sorry" try a Dry Cleaning method (someone you trust to take care of your items just as you would your other vintage goodies.)

These are just a few simple and effective ways to keep your vintage leather looking tight!
Try em out and let us know what you think.

Peace/Love/and Free Hugs

Vintage Gucci Appraisals..

We ADORE Vintage Gucci and always get questions of the who's,where's, and how's to know a specific items value.

Well, here's a great service that will make that much easier!

The House of Gucci and Christie's have joined forces to create

The 1st Gucci-certified online appraisal service for Vintage Gucci items.

Seems pretty easy too and with the history of Christie's in the auction world it's sure to put you at ease on that fabulous piece you've been holding onto, wanting to sell,or just wanting to know the value of.

Upload your photo and submit an appraisal request and a team of Christie's experts as well as Gucci's archivists will assess the item and provide an auction estimate for qualifying submissions.
(Select owners will have a chance to sell their items to Gucci or in a future Christie's auction as well)

FYI..For collectors who have Gucci up the wazoo(you lucky lady you!)..You may submit up to six items per request..

So..run and grab your yumminess and get to gettin!
